Discounts Of Up to 36% on Last Minute Yacht Charters
Super Yacht demand on the rise for the European and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

London, 21 June 2010: Yacht charter specialist Dream Marine is offering sizeable discounts on last minute summer charters in and around the Mediterranean, as well as a number of special global offers that can be seen and accessed on the company’s web site (www.dream-marine.com). Some of the discounts are as high as 36% off previously published rates.

“If you have not yet booked your holiday and are looking to take to the high seas any time soon, now is a very good time to consider it and take the plunge,” says Dream Marine managing director Chris Yates. “Market conditions have allowed us to negotiate some very special discounts and attractive rates for our clients, but I don’t expect them to last for ever.”

Yates explains that a number of factors have allowed Dream Marine to source and then offer these special deals. “The year started in the UK under a cloud of uncertainty. Economic unrest, the upcoming election, and an unusually hard winter in the UK resulted in a lot of people holding back on committing to their summer plans. We then had the disruption brought about by the volcanic ash, as well as the strike by British Airways and other European carriers. All these factors have combined to create a window of availability on a stock of exceptional yachts based across Europe.”

The majority of the summer offers for bareboat or skippered yacht charters cover seven-days and take in yachts based in Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Sardinia, Sicily, Spain and Turkey, as well as Caribbean islands such as Martinique and St. Lucia. Yachts include the Beneteau, Bavaria and Jeanneau ranges from the 30 right up to the 55, the popular Fountaine-Pajot and Lagoon catamaran ranges, as well as many other individual yachts that are suitable for bareboat or skippered charter.

The best discounts on offer from Dream Marine are for last minute bookings and Yates expects this to be the case right across the summer season in the Mediterranean.

Many of our regular clients know exactly what they want in terms of a yacht charter. They know the yacht they want. They know where it needs to be based, and the dates it is to be available, and these clients are happy to book a year or more in advance to get what they want. These current offers are for people who are more flexible in terms of choice of port, yacht and dates, and we are delighted we can offer them such great last minute value.”

Despite the “offers”, Dream Marine has seen strong demand across its entire fleet of yachts this year, with its elite Super Yacht range doing exceptionally well and reflecting that there is still a lot of serious money floating around.

“The Monaco Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festival were a very busy period for us with the added complication that this year that the Grand Prix coincided with the middle week of the film festival,” adds Yates. “We already have reservations for many of our elite fleet for both the Grand Prix and festival period next year, which thankfully will be a week apart.”

Dream Marine has noticed that it is no longer just the Monaco Grand Prix that drives demand for Super Yacht Grand Prix charters. The elite crewed yachts have also been in demand for the European Grand Prix, which takes place on 27 June in the port of Valencia, and for the closing race of the year, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will take place at the Yas Marina Circuit on 14 November.

Elite crewed boats being offered by Dream Marine from the mega yacht range include the 295 foot ‘Lauren L’; the 237 foot ‘RM Elegant’; the 230 foot ‘‘Sherakhan’; and after undergoing a major refit, the 270 foot ‘O’Mega’. The Super Yacht range also includes the 177 foot ‘Sea Force One’; the 135 foot ‘Ocean Emerald’; and the 98 foot ‘Olialia’.

Dream Marine Opens Mayfair Office

Dream Marine recently opened a new Mayfair office in what is arguably London’s most famous and prestigious square, Berkeley Square.
“As business has increased over the past 12 months we have found ourselves spending more and more time at meetings in central London. It made perfect sense for Dream Marine to have a central London base, a safe haven in which to hold meetings or catch up between appointments”, explains Yates.

Dream Marine’s headquarters and operational hub remains in Kingston-Upon-Thames, with Berkeley Square House being used for the charter operator’s central London activities related to sales meetings or appointments with the owners of the yachts used by the company, many of whom are based in or around Mayfair, or are staying at hotels in the area.
